SOME TRUST IN CHARIOTS, SOME IN HORSES BUT WE REMEMBER THE NAME OF THE LORD!
Dear Friends,
As Stuart and I come closer to a season of celebration and thanksgiving we cannot help but praise God for all He has done. It's wonderful to home for the holidays. We live in one of the most incredible countries in the world. When we wake up and brush our teeth we never think twice about the water and wonder if it will cause sickness and disease. There’s food available for us to buy, streets with traffic lights and police that enforce the laws. Our hearts break for those who suffer in other parts of the world. Living in a struggling U.S. economy, we still have so much more than most of the world will ever have. We are all truly blessed and have so much to be thankful for!

Both of us have parents living on fixed incomes and they have suffered their losses. We understand there is a real impact on individual families this year and we don’t want to make light of the losses many have suffered. There’ s a bible verse that says, “Some trust in chariots, some trust in horses, but we remember the name of the Lord our God.” It’s an easy scripture to quote but not always easy to walk out daily.

When things get difficult we have to ask ourselves a few questions, “Who are we really trusting in, what are we really focusing on and where are we placing our hope? Is it the government, the stock market or our credit cards? For me personally the answer to these questions always goes back to my image of God as Father. Who is my heavenly Father? Is He the impersonal God, who created the world and is now just sitting back to see what we will do with it all? Is He the personal loving God he declared himself to be? We only need to look as far as Jesus to see how personal He really is.

Our heavenly Father knows our needs and we are His children. Abba knows us and is able. Aren’t you glad to be called a child of God? When I think about it my frown turns upside down! We can’t help but smile! Our spirit wants to rejoice and we are grateful because the Father loves us. Can you imagine loving someone so much that you give them your only child as a sacrifice? That’s what the Father has done for us. He loves you and nothing can separate you from that love. What loving Father would leave his children begging for bread? Our Father can create and provide anyway He wants. It may not always be the way we want it and it maybe more glorious than we can imagine! The point is, He can do it and He loves to do it! Abba!

Lord, we thank you for all you’ve done for all the ways you have blessed us. We thank you for the opportunity to worship you and love you. We thank you for the provision you have given us and the opportunities we have had to lead others to you. We are grateful. Amen!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Blessings, Cathy and Stuart Greer
