VILLAGE OUTREACHES
“Gospel, Rural Thrust” were the words Pastor Peter Atiaha was given by the Lord years ago. For twenty years he has pastored and planted over 90 churches and is a mature believer trained in the U.S. In this small region he has recently establish ten more churches called Assemby of Zion Church, two bible schools, one elementary school, is the president of the counsel of churches in the surrounding area and respected in his community.

As we have been getting to know him he asked us a very interesting question. He said, “Would you go and preach the gospel to a group of 1,000?” We said, “Yes.” Then he asked if we would go for 200, 300 or even 50? Stuart said, “Yes, even for one.” He told us that the enemy has separated these people in the villages by huge amounts of land and broke them into small groups making it difficult to reach them with the Gospel. Just that morning I was asking the Lord, “Why are we here in this remote place when you know we want 1,000’s and 1,000’s of souls and we could go where there are major revivals? Then I was reminded that we said we wanted to go to the places where they have never heard the name of Jesus. Peter went on to tell us that there are still many remote villages that have never heard the name Jesus even in Ghana. Since then we have just decided that whether it’s one or a thousands we will preach and demonstrated the Kingdom of God while here in Africa. The ground is not as soft here as it was in Mozambique yet one village outreach close to town resulted in 60 Muslim coming to Christ. During that outreach it was heart breaking to have a 12 year old boy tell us he wanted to serve Christ but his Muslim parents would never allow it. He asked us to pray for him and we told him the Lord knows your heart. The church of Ghana is contending with a strong muslim influence that is pouring in from the North. The remote villages populated with the poor are up for grabs. As I type this I hear the Lord saying, "Who will go for me?". (back to home page)

REACHING THE UNREACHED PEOPLE OF GHANA

However, Peter has been able to reach ten of them so far and plant churches. The church is planted by going out to the villages, doing an outreach, leading people to Christ and establishing a church with a pastor from the local town. It takes six months to a year to equip a handful of church elders or another pastor. The average cost is $2,000 and that includes a motorcycle to travel to and from town for the temporary pastor. The sizes of the villages range from 100 to 1,000. Peter said, “The villages are too small to think about for many churches." Right now there are villages that have heard the neighboring village had someone come and tell them about a prophet named Jesus. So they sent someone to ask if they too could hear and learn more about this man Jesus and have a building like the other village. Which is pretty exciting but the reality is that the people in these villages are illeterate and cannot reach which is why a visiting pastor is necessary for some time. Many of these pastors can not live their because they have children in schools and a wife to also take care of. Peter told us " I cannot go until I am ready to plant a church because salvation without disciplship would be a waste of time." So far they have planted ten village churches. It's our personal desire to support church planting and see the unreached peoples reached with the Gospel. Click here and watch a video of a local village church service. (back to home page)
